Despite the grim weather forecast, this proved to be a most enjoyable day with sunny periods and a not too strong wind. Sue and John Matthews came in early in the field with 36 pts and it was not until the last group completed their round that they were beaten by Christl Skelton and Brian Hall with a score of 38 pts. Chris Bowman who played in the first group made a tremendous shot to the 16th green and this was to stand throughout the field.
